Corrections and data changelog

A directory is only as useful as it is current. This page is how we keep ourselves honest about that: how to report an error, how fast we fix it, how often we re-verify, and a dated log of the material changes we have made to provider data, rankings, and policy.

How does HalalWallet handle corrections?

Readers report errors from a prefilled link on every data page. Critical corrections (Shariah oversight, state availability, contract structure) are fixed within 24 to 48 hours of confirmation; pricing and product changes within a week. Providers attest their own data on a 30-day cadence through the provider portal, editorial re-checks quarterly, and every product record carries a last-verified date. Right now 156 of 156 U.S. products were verified in the last 90 days. Every material change is logged below with its date.

  • Report a correction from any provider, product, or data page
  • Critical fixes in 24 to 48 hours; pricing within a week
  • 30-day provider attestation, quarterly editorial re-check, dated records
  • Facts change only with a published source; money never changes a fact

Report a correction

The fastest route is the “Report a correction” link on the page itself, because it prefills the page and provider for you. If you are here directly, use the button below and include:

  • The page URL and the provider or product
  • What is wrong or outdated
  • Where the correct information is published (provider page, rate sheet, certificate, fatwa, filing)

Providers: the free provider portal lets you attest and update your own listing directly, with every change reviewed before it goes live.

Changelog of material changes

Newest first. Each entry is a real change that shipped to published data, rankings, or policy. Routine wording edits and new articles are not logged here.

  1. Policy change

Trust Standard, coverage map, and public corrections log published

Codified the HalalWallet Trust Standard (what we verify, ranking rules, worked money-flow examples, re-verification cadence, and boundaries). Added a live coverage map by category and state, this corrections page, per-provider last-verified dates on every provider profile, and a prefilled 'Report a correction' link on every data page.

  2. Removal

Zoya compliance verdicts removed from stock pages

Third-party stock-compliance verdicts sourced from Zoya were removed from individual stock pages at Zoya's request. Stock pages now reference HalalWallet's own documented screening explanation and link to independent screeners rather than republishing another platform's verdicts.

  3. CorrectionIjaraCDC

IjaraCDC minimum credit score corrected: 580 to 500

The published minimum credit score for IjaraCDC's home financing was corrected from 580 to 500 based on provider-verified information submitted through the provider portal. The product record's last-verified date was updated.

  4. Verified updateIjaraCDC

    IjaraCDC provider-verified facts published

Languages supported, support channels, housing-cooperative eligibility, and the linked fatwa document were added to the IjaraCDC listing from the provider's August portal attestation.

  5. CorrectionShariaWiz

ShariaWiz review caveats corrected after provider feedback

Several caveats in the ShariaWiz editorial review were corrected after the provider pointed to its published materials. Caveats that remained accurate were kept.

  6. Policy change

Funded-transaction fee language removed from disclosures

References to compensation tied to funded home-financing transactions were removed from disclosures sitewide to reflect current agreements and RESPA Section 8 compliance. Partner compensation is described as services-bundle and click-based fees only.

  7. Verified update

Shariah oversight summaries completed for every U.S. and Canadian product

28 product records that had an oversight label but no written summary were backfilled to 100% coverage, and 5 Shariah board names were added from provider documentation. 55 contract-structure labels were standardized and 8 broken 'alternatives' links were repaired. One inaccurate 'con' on the Mackenzie listing was corrected.

  8. Correction

    Full-crawl corrections across 11 providers

Final provider audits reached full crawl coverage. Corrections included Moya Financial rates, Eqraz Shariah supervisory board oversight, Global Iman oversight and fees, MyWassiyah and MinaWill pricing, TISA endorsement wording, and the Muslim.Estate calculator description. Page copy that repeated the old facts was aligned, and last-verified dates were set from the July 2026 crawl for 218 products.

  9. Ranking change

One row per provider; Index grade drives Top Picks order

Banking, business-financing, and retirement comparison tables now show one row per provider, and the labeled Top Picks module orders Index-graded providers strictly by HalalWallet Index grade.

  10. Verified updateGuidance Residential

Guidance Residential accuracy edits; 30-day provider re-verification documented

Accuracy edits to the Guidance Residential profile were made from provider feedback backed by published materials. The 30-day provider portal re-verification cycle, with email reminders to providers, was documented in the methodology, the Index FAQ, and llms.txt.

    Update cadence →

  11. Ranking change

Index-graded providers rank strictly by grade

The recommendation engine was changed so that providers with an approved HalalWallet Index grade rank strictly by that grade, removing any tie-break that could be read as commercial.

How to cite this page

Preferred format (HTML):

According to HalalWallet (“HalalWallet corrections and data changelog”, https://www.halalwallet.us/corrections, retrieved 2026-10-23).

For time-sensitive claims (rates, fees, state availability), please verify directly with the provider's official documentation and note the retrieval date.

How to use this comparison: Scholars rule; we organize the evidence. HalalWallet is an independent educational comparison platform - by design, we do not issue fatwas or provide financial, legal, or tax advice. We do the research homework so your final checks are quick and personal. Where our role ends and who takes over.

Product structures and Shariah oversight vary by provider, so finish with three built-in steps:

  • Confirm current terms and halal compliance directly with the provider - their quote is final.
  • Review the contract structure (Murabaha, Ijara, Musharakah, etc.) and any disclosed Shariah board opinions.
  • Bring your shortlist to a qualified Islamic finance advisor or scholar, so the conversation is about your situation, not the basics.
